The Artists

Aaron Yamada-Hanff, Colin Campbell and I crossed paths while living in Baltimore, Maryland a few years ago. We attended the Maryland Institute College of Art, where Colin received his BFA, and Aaron and I received our Post Baccalaureate Certificates. Each of us have a background in working from direct observation and all participated in a group exhibition at Still Life Gallery in Ellicot City in December, 2008. Since then Aaron and Colin have spent time working in the video game industry while I am currently attending the Master of Fine Arts program at the University of New Hampshire.

Statement

Last year MFA grad students at University of New Hampshire decided to put together a show of grad students from other MFA programs around the country. We were asked to invite two artists who were currently in, or recent graduates of other programs around the country, show work of our own, and talk about how we were associated. This 2nd invitational has expanded to include other artists, that we respected, but we were unable to choose last year.
One of the joys of putting a show together like this is the opportunity to meet and interact with other artists around the country, people who have shared common experiences to our own but have taken away very different things from them. The title of the show this year is a reference to this, and this show is the result... There is always that thought in the back of your mind that you might crash and burn, but when it finally comes together its a really happy moment, and when it comes together this well its even better. Thanks to everyone who made it happen, We couldn't have done it without you.
